Fashion fix - Karen Karmody

Hey ladies!

Recently the well loved website ASOS have added 'Marketplace' This is where anyone can sign up for free and sell anything fashion related. When you view an item you can choose to 'Love this' the more times it's loved the higher it goes in the listings. I personally think it's a great idea and the reason we are posting this is to ask if you guys could do us a favour! A very good friend of ours, Karen Karmody,  is a fashion designer she has her own website here where you can purchase her dresses but has also put a dress on Marketplace to see how it goes on there, it's a beautiful long black sequin dress, perfect for this party season! We would really appreciate it if you could 'Love this' here and get her dress as noticed as possible. All of their dresses are handmade and 9/10 are completely individual. They are based in London, so us English girls need to get behind them and support some amazing local talent! As I said any support towards them would be very much appreciated!

Cinq

We are fast approaching the end of the year, and keeping our spirits high when it's this cold is not the easiest thing in the world, especially when we're all feeling ill!

Going on holiday is keeping a smile on altbeauty's face at the moment, we keep reminiscing about our Summer 2010 holiday to Corfu and we think a bit of sun would go down a treat right about now! We're thinking of returning to Corfu again next year, just need to save a bit of our hard earned cash! Pfft!

Christmas is nearly hereeee!! We can't believe how quickly it's come around this time, wasn't it only last week we were shouting about New Year?! Anyway, we've been Christmas shopping, spending a fortune and wearing our little legs out - treating ourselves as well of course ;) but now we just want the day to be here so we can spend it in our pyjamas with a huge roast dinner and the people we love.

Nandos, oh Nandos. Once upon a time the girls from altbeauty went to Nando's for lunch, we were in a hurry as we each had an interview with Hollister (Ha!) so we ordered our food quickly and waited... Next thing we knew the fire alarm was going off and we were standing in the rain! As we were let back in after 20 minutes it took them another hour to fire up the grills (we would order the food that took longest...) and we missed our interviews. BUT we did get free pitta bread, humous, mixed peppers, two meals, four sides and two drinks SO we can't complain! We have some Nando's chicken cheques to get spending! Yummy!

A trip to Ikea in November left us with hundreds (literally) of candles between us, so we've now been closing the curtains nice and early, lighting a candle and watching TV in bed whether it's with each other of partners.

Barry M nail polishes, still got to love them! We've been letting our natural nails breath recently so they've been looking a bit pathetic, luckily we have Barry M spilling out of our drawers!

What's on our wishlist this Christmas?

As girls, our wishlist is always long and detailed, so we've broken it down into what we NEED to get our hands on!

First Up Comes 'essie Mambo'

A gorgeous nude colour from essie, this little ray of summer is something us girls need on our nails to keep those winter blues at bay! I came across this beauty after being linked on to the WAH-nails website, check those girls out they are incredible. But this is a polish they often use and it has such a pristine finish - which is why it is so high on our Christmas list!

Next In Line, Tattoo Cover Ups

Now some best friends get matching braclets, some may have the same top, however both of us at altbeauty have the same tattoo, it's a dainty pink heart outline on our shoulders. Now we've had time for our stupid idea to sink in we'd like to have them covered up! Ideas are all over our heads, Alexandra has ideas of incorporating a guardian angel with ivy to represent her late grandma, perhaps with a rose or scroll also. Whereas Harriet has ideas of a transcript between her shoulders however words and fonts are no where near decided! But we would like to keep them connected to one another, suggestions are appreciated ladies! Altbeauty is in love with tattoos, which is why we would like them around Christmas as a little treat to ourselves.

Pre-Taped Hair Extensions

Cheap, Reliable, Long-lasting, Amazing... any other reasons needed?

These hair extensions are pre-taped (hence the name), the idea is you sandwich them in with your natural hair. They are said to last up to 3 months when installed properly and the top of each weft has a scalp like appearance to help blend in. Both of us would love longer hair, one of us has mid length where as the other has hair roughly 2 inches long! So once we've (probably struggled) to get these in our hair we'll review them and let you gals know if they're worth it! Coming in at £49 for 24 wefts from Heavenly Hair Supplies, it won't be long 'til weve got them!

These watches are all over the place at the moment, anybody who is anybody has one. Wether you want the £5 ones sold in the mall or the expensive bad boy - we can guarantee that they complete any look.

This Michael Kors chronograph in particular is gorgeous, look at the detail, the diamantes, the clock hands. So if you're looking at buying a statement watch then look no further, for $211 you can have this clinging to your wrist for years and years. A great price, or great present ey ey Santa ;).

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Every beauty blogger/youtuber knows about this foundation. It's been top rated ever since it was released and every girl dreams to have this added to their collection. This is on our Christmas list, we think that it's the novelty of it being a present which makes it so exciting, if you buy it yourself it's just another make up item youve purchased. If someone goes out and gets it for you it's all that more precious! Mummy, we want this :-)
